Las Vegas, New Mexico is a marvelous old mining and railroad town. Buildings in and around the Plaza date from the latter 1800's and into the early 1900's. Las Vegas is undergoing a recent boom and many of the buildings around the plaza, including the Plaza Hotel, are undergoing restoration.
Jacqui Binford-Bell is a fine artist working in digital painting and visionary watercolor. "Originally photography was just a tool for capturing images to paint, but when I took two years off from painting I fell in love with photography and the dry darkroom," Jacqui explains to vistors to her Binford-Bell Studio and Gallery in Black Lake, New Mexico. The gallery is part of the Artistic Vistas and Treasures Art Trail in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Her photography and paintings record those mountains and the Colorado Plateau she frequently visits. She has won numerous prizes and an international following with her watercolors and photography.

Love this section of Old Town Las Vegas. Not as polished as the Plaza Hotel.
