Trinidad, Colorado is a marvelous old mining and railroad town first established during the days of the Santa Fe Trail. Buildings in the old part of town date from the latter 1800's and into the early 1900's. Many are being renovated and others are slowing dissolving.
Jacqui Binford-Bell is a fine artist working in digital painting and visionary watercolor. "Originally photography was just a tool for capturing images to paint, but when I took two years off from painting I fell in love with photography and the dry darkroom," Jacqui explains to vistors to her Binford-Bell Studio and Gallery in Black Lake, New Mexico. The gallery is part of the Artistic Vistas and Treasures Art Trail in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Her photography and paintings record those mountains and the Colorado Plateau she frequently visits. She has won numerous prizes and an international following with her watercolors and photography.
