Jacqui Binford-Bell is a fine artist working in digital painting and visionary watercolor. "Originally photography was just a tool for capturing images to paint, but when I took two years off from painting I fell in love with photography and the dry darkroom," Jacqui explains to vistors to her Binford-Bell Studio and Gallery in Black Lake, New Mexico.

The gallery is part of the Artistic Vistas and Treasures Art Trail in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Her photography and paintings record those mountains and the Colorado Plateau she frequently visits. She has won numerous prizes and an international following with her watercolors and photography.

Artist's Statement

Working with digital photography and variety of water media on canvas and board, I translate my vision of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona to enchant the viewer. My work is the visionary expression of the landscape in fauve colors that delight the senses and excite the emotions.

A fine arts graduate of the University of New Mexico, I have worked in a variety of mediums from fiber to watercolor. And now photography. "I am willing to use any media which helps me to convey the mood of the scene I am transferring to the two dimension surface."
